Kaspersky Lab’s security solutions been recognized by AV-Test as user-friendly products that don’t impact computer speed, receiving its top awards for performance, usability and virus repair following the company’s rigorous 2015 test program.
The awards are based on the results of a series of tests on endpoint security products. The assessments are conducted regularly throughout a year and test a wide range of parameters that include, among others, detection efficiency against real-world zero-day attacks, system performance impact and the ability to remove an active infection.
Kaspersky Lab’s consumer solutions were evaluated alongside those of 20 other leading vendors, and came out top in three of the ten categories: Best Performance, Best Usability and Best Repair.
Kaspersky Internet Security was named joint winner of the Best Performance award which recognizes solutions that place a small burden on a Windows system and don’t impact the user experience while providing a high level of security performance. The tests involve application scenarios such as visiting websites, downloading software, installing and launching applications as well as copying data. This is the second year in a row that Kaspersky Internet Security has received this award.
Kaspersky Internet Security also tied for first place in the Best Usability category. This reflects the impact of the solution on the user-friendliness of the Windows computer overall, in particular with respect to false positives. Products are tested by scanning over one million benign applications per certification. In addition, the test logs any blocked actions during the installation of clean programs.
During the endurance tests, AV-Test also considers which tools and solutions are the best for clean-up, repair and recovery after a malware infection. In 2015, the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool was named the Best Repair clean-up tool.
