Woburn, MA – March 27, 2017Kaspersky Lab North America will sponsor Shamrock Elementary School’s fifth grade students as they participate in the Freedom Trail® Foundation Scholars Program.

During the one-hour traveling classroom program, scheduled for March 29 at 10:30 a.m. ET, students will learn about the American Revolution, including a reenactment of the Boston Tea Party, Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride and the Battle of Bunker Hill. The students will have the opportunity to interact with the performers, read portions of important declarations and react to the historic events. Now in its 11th season, the Freedom Trail Foundation Scholars Program has educated more than 36,000 students in Massachusetts through its historical reenactments and lesson plans.

“We are proud to sponsor Shamrock Elementary School as they experience an interactive history lesson that is bound to be unforgettable,” said Angelo Gentile, executive vice president, finance and operations, Kaspersky Lab North America. “Interaction and real-life simulation are critical components of early learning and development. As a global cybersecurity company celebrating its 20th year in business, Kaspersky Lab remains committed to supporting education initiatives and empowering the next generation of innovators.”

The Shamrock Elementary School sponsorship is one of many education initiatives supported by Kaspersky Lab. Most recently, the company hosted its Kaspersky Academy Talent Lab, an international cybersecurity contest for undergraduate students and young professionals aged 18 to 30, and supported a group of nearly 50 New Hampshire-based students as they compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition, a worldwide high school robotics tournament. Kaspersky Lab has also partnered with the World Chess Federation and World Chess to protect competitors in and the infrastructure of the tournament, along with offering cybersecurity training for players.
